Solid Floor Damp Proofing for LVT Installation – Evesham, Worcestershire
Location: Evesham, Worcestershire
Project Overview
This project in Evesham, Worcestershire involved remedial damp proofing works to a solid floor following the failure of a previously installed system.
The client had arranged for damp proofing works to be carried out ahead of installing an LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) flooring system. However, the original treatment proved ineffective, resulting in failure of the finished floor.
Our role was to correctly prepare and treat the substrate to ensure a suitable, long-term solution.
The Issue
Shortly after installation, the LVT flooring began to lift and fail, caused by moisture and vapour passing through the solid floor.
The initial damp-proofing system had not been installed correctly and was unable to prevent moisture migration, making the floor unsuitable for this type of finish.
In order to resolve the issue, both the failed system and the LVT flooring had to be removed, and the floor treated properly from the base up.
Our Approach
The existing LVT flooring was carefully removed, along with any ineffective previous coatings or treatments.
The floor surface was then fully prepared to ensure it was clean, sound and suitable for the installation of a new damp-proofing system.
A high-performance epoxy resin coating system was applied, forming a robust damp-proof and vapour barrier across the entire floor surface. This system is specifically designed to control moisture and provide a reliable base for floor finishes such as LVT.
Reinstatement & Finishing
With the epoxy system fully installed and cured, the floor was left in a condition suitable for the reinstallation of the LVT flooring.
The treated surface now provides a stable, dry and durable base, ensuring compatibility with modern floor coverings.
All preparation and installation works were carried out to a high standard to ensure long-term performance.

The Result
The property in Evesham, Worcestershire now benefits from a correctly installed damp-proofing system, allowing the LVT flooring to be reinstalled with confidence.
By removing the failed system and applying a proven epoxy solution, we eliminated the risk of further moisture-related issues.
The result is a reliable, long-term solution that protects both the floor structure and the finished surface above.
