Rising Damp Treatment to Ground Floor Areas – Stoneleigh, Coventry
Location: Stoneleigh, Coventry
Project Overview
This project involved comprehensive rising damp treatment across multiple ground floor areas within a residential property in Stoneleigh, Coventry.
The client was experiencing consistent damp-related issues affecting several internal walls. Our brief was to implement a reliable, long-term solution across all affected areas while maintaining a high standard of finish throughout the property.
The Issue
Rising damp was present across various ground floor walls, leading to deterioration of plaster finishes and visible signs of moisture at low level.
Due to the extent of the issue, a coordinated approach was required to ensure all affected areas were treated correctly, while also blending seamlessly with areas that remained in good condition.
Our Approach
All affected wall areas were prepared by removing plaster to the required height, typically to approximately one metre in line with industry best practice and British Standards for rising damp treatment.
A thixotropic damp proof course (DPC) was then installed via injection, forming a new chemical barrier to prevent moisture from rising through the masonry.
Following installation of the DPC, a two-part bonded membrane system was applied to isolate residual moisture and provide a secure base for reinstatement.
This approach ensures both the source of the damp is addressed and the internal finishes are protected moving forward.
Reinstatement & Finishing
Walls were reinstated using a combination of traditional wet plaster to rebuild the correct wall lines and achieve a consistent finish throughout the property.
In areas where existing plaster remained in good condition, the new works were carefully blended in to ensure a seamless transition between treated and untreated sections.
All treated areas were finished to a smooth, high-quality standard, ready for redecoration.
The Result
The property in Stoneleigh, Coventry now benefits from a comprehensive rising damp solution across all affected ground floor areas.
By treating the problem consistently and blending the finishes carefully, we delivered a result that is both technically effective and visually cohesive — leaving the client with a dry, protected and professionally finished home.
