Project Overview

This project involved the full waterproofing and conversion of a basement area within a property in Quarry Bank, Dudley.

The basement had been suffering from water ingress, making the space unusable. The client’s objective was to create a completely dry, functional internal area through the installation of a reliable waterproofing system and full internal fit-out.

The Issue

The basement was affected by ongoing water ingress due to its below-ground construction, resulting in damp conditions and an unusable environment.

Without a suitable waterproofing system in place, water was able to enter through the structure, making the space unsuitable for any form of use.

A comprehensive solution was required to both manage water ingress and allow the space to be converted into a dry, usable area.

Our Approach

We installed a full Type C cavity drainage waterproofing system, designed to control and safely remove water entering the structure.

A pumping station was installed, along with a perimeter drainage channel system, to collect and direct water efficiently.

Cavity drainage membranes were fitted to both the walls and floor, as well as to the staircase area, ensuring complete coverage and protection throughout the basement.

All collected water is channelled into the pumping system and discharged safely away from the property via dedicated pipework.

Reinstatement & Conversion

Once the waterproofing system was in place, we carried out a full internal fit-out.

A timber stud framework was constructed internally, allowing for insulation to be incorporated and improving thermal performance.

The area was then plasterboarded and plaster skimmed to a smooth, high-quality finish, creating a clean and usable internal space.

The Result

The basement at this Quarry Bank, Dudley property has been successfully transformed into a completely dry and watertight environment.

By combining a robust waterproofing system with a full internal conversion, we delivered a space that is now both functional and comfortable.
