Damp Proofing & Waterproofing – Gloucester
Project Overview
This project involved specialist damp proofing works to a new extension at a residential property in Gloucester, where external ground levels were higher than the internal floor level. Our team designed and installed a robust internal waterproofing solution to ensure long-term protection of the space.
The Issue
Due to external ground levels exceeding the internal floor level, the extension was at risk of groundwater ingress and lateral damp penetration without appropriate waterproofing measures in place.

Our Assessment
Following a detailed site assessment, a Type C cavity drainage system was specified as the most suitable solution. This approach allows moisture to be controlled and safely discharged rather than resisted under pressure.
Work Carried Out
- Formation of an internal perimeter drainage channel
- Installation of an internal perimeter drainage system
- Installation of cavity drainage membrane to wall areas
- Installation of raised floor membrane
- Finishing of wall areas with plasterboard and skim finish
The Result
The completed system now provides a dry, protected internal environment suitable for long-term use as habitable living space, with groundwater safely managed and discharged externally.
